After being envolved in performance experiments as the absurd Phil Bosmans Sextet, and the rockband Manhole, Luk van der Hallen started a theatre performance group with Tjeu Nijsten and Nowel Deckers in combination with rock music played by Mark Kaes (bass), Sjeel Vastmans (electric guitar) and Luk van der Hallen (drums). The bizar combination was inspired by ‘Herenleed’ and the music of Frank Zappa, and was meant to shock, provoque  and entertain the audience of the youth center ‘Knoupsgaat’, Maasmechelen with a yearly New years’ show. In 1979 the group was suggested to enter the ‘Camarettenfestival’ in Delft (NL). It won the third price and started touring Belgium and the Netherlands.
